In 2009, Judge Morris began his service on the Second District Court of Appeal. Immediately prior, he was the chief judge in the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas/Pasco), where he had served as a judge since 1997. He serves on the Supreme Court Judicial Management Council.
Before becoming a judge, he practiced law for seventeen years. After serving as a partner and Florida Committee member with Foley & Lardner, he formed his own firm. He had a litigatory and transactional corporate, commercial and real estate practice. Martindale-Hubbell rated him AV.
Judge Morris holds a B.S. from the University of Florida, a J.D. from DePaul University, and a LL.M. from Duke University. He was editor-in-chief of Judicature.
Born in Jacksonville, he graduated from Tarpon Springs High School and married his high school classmate. They raised three children together.
